Course Complex Ultra - User Manual

Welcome to Course Complex Ultra, a premier e-commerce expansion suite designed specifically for Moodle learning environments. Developed under the supervision of Suman Kumar Das (Lead Developer), this plugin transforms your standard Moodle site into a powerful commercial catalog storefront, complete with shopping carts, checkout forms, automated enrollment controls, coupon features, and inventory monitoring.

2. How to Install and Sell Moodle Courses Directly

Course Complex Ultra is packaged as a standard Moodle local block module. Installing it takes only a few minutes.

1 Upload the Plugin

Log in as a Moodle Administrator. Navigate to Site Administration -> Plugins -> Install plugins. Upload the file coursecomplex.zip in the designated box, check the validation results, and click **Install plugin from ZIP file**.

2 Upgrade the Database

Moodle will detect the new directory. Click **Upgrade Moodle database now**. The plugin installer automatically creates the tables required to log transactions, cart entries, physical inventory products, and bundle packages.

3 Configure Settings

Go to Site Administration -> Plugins -> Local plugins -> Course Complex Ultra Settings. Fill out the general store variables:

• Currency Settings: Select your billing currency (e.g. PKR, USD, EUR).
• Tax / VAT Rate (%): Enter a sales tax rate (e.g. 5 for 5% tax). This value will automatically be calculated and itemized during checkout.
• Ship From Warehouse: Input the sender Name and Address. This information prints automatically in the return details section of shipping packing slips.

3. Adding the Shop to Moodle's Navigation Menu

To make the e-commerce store accessible to all visitors, you can append a direct shortcut link inside your theme's primary header navigation bar.

1 Navigate to Theme Settings

Go to Site Administration -> Appearance -> Theme Settings.

2 Append the Custom Menu Entry

Scroll down to the **Custom menu items** text area field. Enter the following lines exactly:

Shop|/local/coursecomplex/shop.php
My Orders|/local/coursecomplex/myorder.php

3 Save Changes

Save theme settings. Users will now see a primary **Shop** drop-down menu link in the Moodle header navbar redirecting them directly to the course and physical product storefront catalog.

4. Shopping Catalog Storefront

The storefront page (/local/coursecomplex/shop.php) provides shoppers with a responsive grid displaying all visible products. It features three layout filters:

• All Products: Unified display of all items.
• Online Courses: Displays course products.
• Physical Products: Displays items requiring postage dispatch.
• Bundles: Displays course and physical bundles packaged under a single discounted price.

Admin owners can edit physical items and bundles at any time via the **Manage Products** and **Manage Bundles** interfaces. Descriptions support full HTML layouts, rich media files, embedded lists, and links via the integrated Summernote WYSIWYG text editor.

5. Cart & Checkout Workflows

When an item is added to the cart, the system directs the shopper to the cart overview page (cart.php). This page details active item counts and includes quantity adjustments, item deletions, and a complete order subtotal, shipping fee, tax, and catalog savings breakdown.

A Guest Checkout Flow

If a student is not registered on your site, they can purchase as a guest. Under the billing form in checkout.php, they simply fill out their First Name, Last Name, and Email Address. Upon payment, the plugin automatically creates a standard Moodle account for them, emails their new login username and password credentials to them, and executes the course enrollment.

B Physical Products & Postage Verification

If the cart contains a physical item, checkout dynamically expands to require a **Delivery Shipping Address** (street address, city, state/province, ZIP code, country, and telephone). The system calculates the postage shipping fees and adds them to the order invoice total.

6. Configuring Multi-Pricing Payment Plans

Instead of forcing a single price tag, you can define multiple pricing options for any course, physical product, or bundle package. This enables buyers to select their desired plan directly on the storefront product page before checkout.

Field Meanings:

• "name": The name label shown to the student on the page.
• "price": The billing amount per cycle interval.
• "type": Set to "one-time" for standard purchases, or "recurring" for cycles.
• "cycle": (Subscriptions only) The billing interval: "weekly", "monthly", or "yearly".
• "installments": (Subscriptions only) The total number of cycles they must pay (e.g. 3 installments means billing ends after 3 cycles). Enter 0 for open-ended recurring billing.
• "duration": The manual course enrollment timespan in days. Set 0 for lifetime access.

7. Manual Order Entry

For administrative convenience, managers can manually issue orders to students (for instance, cash payments, bank transfers, or scholarship giveaways) via the **Create Manual Order** panel.

1 Toggle Candidate Origin

Select **Select Existing Moodle Student** (with an search box to filter existing users) or **Or Create New Student Account** (to type name and email credentials on-the-fly).

2 Search Box

Begin typing a student's name or email inside the search bar. The selector instantly filters matching options so you can pick the target user without scrolling through large lists.

3 Check items & Pricing Plans

Check the boxes next to the courses, physical products, or bundle packages. If custom pricing plans exist for a selected item, a drop-down menu will appear allowing you to override and pick the specific billing plan to assign to the order.

4 Self-Healing Course Enrollments

Upon registration, the plugin automatically checks the target course. If manual enrollment is not active or disabled on the course, the engine automatically activates it and enrolls the student without throwing errors.

8. Supported Payment Gateways

The plugin integrates with the following payment processors:

• PayPal: Direct redirect to PayPal checkout. Requires configuring IPN inside your PayPal merchant profile (pointing to the IPN callback script).
• Stripe: Embedded Stripe Elements card form. Mixed carts (subscriptions + physical items) are processed natively; the system creates one-time invoice lines for shipping/physical costs and adds them to the subscription invoice.
• Razorpay: API credentials integration for cards and bank systems.
• Authorize.Net: API key integration for direct card charges.

9. Invoices & Shipping labels

The plugin generates print-ready document slips for administrative fulfillment:

• Print Invoices: Accessed via order details lists. Details subtotal, shipping cost, sales tax breakdown, applied coupon savings, payment information, and customer billing address details.
• Priority Mail packing slip: Displays return Ship From warehouse values, recipient shipping destination details, and a checklist of products in the dispatch batch.

10. Analytics Dashboard

The main admin dashboard (dashboard.php) provides insights into store activity:

• Monthly sales comparison: Metric boxes comparing total sales, visitor counts, and completed orders against last month's stats.
• Abandonment logs: Track users who added items to the cart but did not proceed to checkout, enabling you to target re-engagement outreach.
• Product sales reports: High-level overview of total units sold and net sales earned per course, physical product, and bundle package.
